Let me start off by saying I love music, and yes I’m one of those runners that can’t run/live without my music. I run at least four times a week, and you’ll rarely catch me without my music. Unfortunately, nowadays with headphones such as Beats, Bose, Sol Republic it going to cost you to get a decent pair of headphones. When I was asked by MEElectronics to test and review their newest sport headphones I agreed, but wasn’t expecting much as the cost was $14.99.

Who is MEElectronics?

The Headphones

WOW…these only cost $14.99 – that is CRAZY! As I noted above when MEElectronics contacted me I almost turn them down as I have “bigger-and-brighter” items to review, and I didn’t want to waste my time on some “run-of-the-mill” cheap headphones. WHOA! I’m glad I didn’t turn down the review. I have to say that these are by far the best sounding, most comfortable, snug-fit headphones I have ever used. I cannot believe that MEElectronics only charges $14.99 for them. The bass/treble are perfectly balanced and the way they fit in the ear with eartips and memory wire is outstanding! The headphones have a whopping impedance of 16 Ohms (@ 1kHz), while the is sensitivity 98dB (1mW @ 1kHz) , and the maximum input power 30mW…which means in layman’s terms – these speakers sound good – really good! They are sweat resistance and I found that they are water/rain resistance (even though the website doesn’t boast that they are). I love that fact MEElectronics really thought about the runner/gym goer, as they come with a shirt clip and slide that zips up to the neck which holds the headphones more secure. I found that, however, my left side eartip is a bit small and I find myself pushing it back in to earlobe periodically. I also think that the wire could be longer for those of us that like to wear our music in a pouch around our hips.

The Mic works excellent too when taking calls. My wife had called me on a run and I was able to talk to her with no issues, she stated that there was little to no background noise (apart from my heavy breathing). One of the best features are that the earbuds are engineered in such a way that allows me to hear outside noises when I need to, like when a car is coming or a biker wants to pass. I love that fact that I can hear these sounds while still listening to my music. Like most headphones you control the skip and reverse through the push of a button on the headphones. My unit seemed a bit touchy as sometimes it wouldn’t accept the skip and reverse and the headphones would just pause the music. After a while though the button was broken-in and I was able to pause/skip/reverse at will with no issues.
